On the first day of the Learning City International Conference in Yeonsu, South Korea UNESCO International award was announced on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
Saudi Arabian Famous City "Jubail Industrial City" has won the UNESCO International Award for the best learning city in the world, Jubail is one of ten cities that have won this year's award in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

All of the awardees have shown how access to education empowers citizens of all ages when appropriate policies and programs are formulated, They were selected by the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) on the recommendation of an independent jury of international experts.
Before the awards ceremony, UIL's director David Atchuerena said This year's UNESCO Learning City Award winners enable their citizens to adapt to the rapidly changing world and gain the knowledge they need to work together to address global challenges.
Jubail Industrial City has been promoted As the world's largest petrochemical industrial city, With a focus on education for sustainable development, entrepreneurship, health, and well-being, the city has succeeded in raising the skills of more than 168,000 citizens through evening classes, increased the literacy skills of more than 5,000 beneficiaries and helped its citizens especially women.
The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education's efforts has been coordinated with local and international organizations for Regional Standards and Excellence and the National Committee for Education.
Culture and Science to transform the Jubail Industrial City into the first Saudi city of education to promote inclusive education. From basic education to higher education, as well as spreading the culture of lifelong learning in Saudi society, facilitating the learning process in the work environment and increasing the quality and excellence in learning, as well as using modern technologies to a greater extent.
