Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's banks have started updating their government payments system for the issuance and renewal of residency permits (iqama), from one year to three month, which are linked to work permits.
Employers shall make payment of the expatriate Work permit Renewal fee which is SR800 per month or SAR 9,600 in a year. Expatriates can make quarterly payment of the fee for their dependents and companions when they renew their iqama on quarterly basis. The monthly fee for dependents and companions is amounted to SAR 400 each.
Payments of the iqama fee can now be made on a quarterly or half-yearly basis. According to recent amendments to the government payment system, banks will accept the payment of the work permit fee for a minimum period of three months, or its multiples of six months and nine months, or even you can pay full year as before.
